Encounters and Connections: China across Time and Space
The growing global interconnections through knowledge exchanges has driven increasing reflections on in the history, present, and future of humanity. In this context, reexamining China’s cultural, intellectual, and social encounters is more vital than ever for deepening our understanding on its patterns of influence in our human community.
The 2026 British Postgraduate Network for Chinese Studies (BPCS) annual conference will be held in-person at Durham University (UK) on 11-12 June 2026. The BPCS conference committee welcomes proposals from a broad range of disciplines. Possible topics include but are not limited to:
– Anthropology and Sociology
– Sino-British Relations
– Art and Cultural Studies
– Philosophy and Thought
– Politics and Governance
– Media and Film
– Gender Studies
– Language and Literature
– Education
